Connecting the Community with Resources
At St. James Episcopal Church, we aim to treat everyone how Jesus would treat them. This includes the hungry, sick, poor, and those needing help in the community. If we are unable to help, we may at least be able to guide others in the right direction to reach the resources and programs they need.

Through child abuse prevention, school readiness, family support and education services, we help children and parents succeed in their families, schools and workplaces. The positive, long-term effects of our work reach beyond those we serve directly to improve prosperity for all Kansas communities.

Additional Resources
The Episcopal Church
The mission of the church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer’s catechism (p. 855), is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.”
As part of that mission, we’re following Jesus into loving, liberating and life-giving relationship with God, with each other and with the earth as the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement. We seek every day to love God with our whole heart, mind and soul, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40).
The Episcopal Diocese of Kansas
The Episcopal Diocese of Kansas includes more than 8,500 members in 44 congregations, as well as two social service agencies. There is great breadth of diversity in the Episcopal Church: we might be Anglo-Catholic, Evangelical, Charismatic, conservative or liberal. But Episcopalians are first and foremost Christians. We believe God has created us, and we proclaim and follow Jesus as Lord. We believe God is active in our day-to-day lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The diocese covers the eastern 40 percent of the state of Kansas, extending as far west as Abilene and Wichita. It also includes the cities of Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan and the entire Kansas City metropolitan area on the Kansas side of the state line.
